Blue. It's my all-time favorite color for both clothing and Interiors. I love all shades of blue, from aquamarine to deep navy. It's calming by nature (literally releases calming hormones in the brain), and just so beautiful to look at. The house I grew up in had cobalt blue cabinets with white countertops. I didn't even realize how cool it was at the time, but as I look back, I admire my Mom's bold choice. She also loved art and accessories in blue, which may be why I grew to love it so much. Thanks for being an inspiration, Mama!

There are so many ways to bring blue into your home. You can be super bold with it, and cover the walls and ceiling in various shades:
-www.myplumdesign.com / I think the two shades of blue make a beautiful backdrop for their toned-down furniture pieces.
Or go glam with high-gloss peacock blue on both walls and furniture:

You can get all crazy and bring in a ton of pattern, using blue as the common denominator:
-via Veranda Magazine / Super crazy, but I appreciate the boldness, and love the wallpaper.
-via Hub Pages / They used navy and white throughout the room, so the mixing of patterns totally works.
Or you can use it as a fun accent somewhere, like the front door:

Or a fireplace:

Here's a few standout rooms that make an impact by simply using blue paint:

Tile is another great way to bring in your favorite blues:

And finally, this show-stopping exterior shot just makes me so happy:

Are you feeling it? Do you think you would like a bold, blue room in your house? We just painted a small TV room a beautiful shade of navy in a house I'm working on. I can't wait until it's finished so I can show you pictures! It's going to be amazing.
