PILLOW Talk

You've got to admit, nothing adds oomph to a room quite like beautiful throw pillows.

You can do the whole room in whites and other neutrals, and then rotate colorful pillows in and out to completely change the vibe of the space.

In doing so, you don't need to commit to bright paint or expensive furniture in a color that you might (will) get sick of after a few years.

Just imagine the room above without the pillows.   It would lack the beautiful colors and layers that make it awesome.

Here's a bunch of bright ones that caught my eye:

-via Jonathan Adler / He definitely doesn't shy away from color!  (Rainbow) sequins aren't exactly cozy, but they make a happy statement.

-via etsy.com  (Sukan - Organic Modern Bohemian Throw Pillow) / These kilim pillows are so beautiful, but like the sequins above, they more for looking at than for actually cuddling up next to.  They're usually pretty scratchy and dense.

But obviously, they don't all have to bring in bright pops of color.  Sometimes layering a bunch of muted tones can have just as big of an impact:

-via H&M home / Gray, white, black, blue...the varying patterns and textures, and the addition of text, make this combination totally work.

-via H&M home / The green sofa brings in the major color, while the muted tones, the silver metallic and the printed elephant add major interest. I'd love to chill on that set-up!

Are you inspired yet?  I personally want to get rid of all of my throw pillows and go crazy ordering a bunch of new ones.  BUT, a new sofa (which I'm dying for) is probably in order first. Or new backpacks for Back-To-School.  Or you know, paying my mortgage. :)

Oh well, a girl can dream....
