Coldwater Canyon Remodel #1 - bathroom

We had the pleasure of working with a good friend of mine on her awesome post-and-beam house up in Coldwater Canyon last year.  The home had great bones but had been bastardized over the years. Oh, 80's, why did you ruin so many mid-century homes?  Things had been unnecessarily added - linoleum, chair rails, archways, bad lighting...you know what I'm talkin' about.  And they were finally ready to bring it back to it's former glory (and then some).  We worked on the entire first floor over a few months.  Let's start with the bathrooms.

Here are some befores:

This was the hallway bathroom when we showed up.  It needed to be completely gutted in order to match what we were doing with the rest of the house.

Look at all the layers of fun that had lived in that bathroom.  Whew!

Like the rest of the house, the homeowners wanted the bathroom to feel clean and modern, but warm. We chose some natural woods and muted colors and we were all thrilled with the results:

I love the natural grain of the wood against the crisp white and gray.  We chose a penny tile for the floor and a matte subway tile for the wall of the bathtub.  Heavenly!
